After Frank O’Hara

This morning went out to North Miami more
95 than I’d like in a day Eddie told me
he remembered the bike I was talking about
found the right mirrors streamlined deco things
to match her red and white paint job

later listening to “U Can’t Touch This”
we’ll wonder what the new Pope would say
about celibacy outside the church
we decide he wouldn’t
believe us Kelsie tells me
she spoke to her long-distance Boo
for two hours “That’s Wowza”
remembering he’s crossed the country twice

we love us
swooning on the beach yelling
boys’ names into the sea
and calling eyes scrambled eggs
I still believe in snail mail
but I can’t survive on stamp glue send me a picture
taken from your street I’ll step into it
