Because I am

Was I winked at because I am
because I am and he isn’t I wonder if
That boy is a monster
my song is on and
I move unable to stop thinking
M-m-m-monster
likes the way I dance because I am
the way my hair is done because I am
likes the way
I shoot jägerbombs after a
blue lucozade in the alleyway
because I am
wondering
if he and I
would just be predictable poetry
He’s a wolf in disguise
Because I hear they like slim-built
boys, smooth and submissive with
almond-shaped eyes
But do I pick at these things because
I am, is it okay to think like this
because I am, because
He ate my heart and then he ate my brain
because at times
I feel like a monster for dissecting what I am.
